THE SUN

The Sun showing
Sunspot region 960
05.06.07
Shannon, Ireland.

(Detail)
I saw on spaceweather there was a nice sized
sunspot
(960) visible today.
So I decided to go back to my schoolboy days and set up my 10x8's and
project the Sun onto white card.
The thing is though in 1984 I didn't have a Canon Eos 350D so
I never got the chance to mess around taking photos of the projections.
The results quite surprised me actually.
I did no processing of the images except to level adjust the first one.
Even though the light hitting the card was blinding white, with the camera
set to 'macro' and the shutter speed 1/4000th sec / AV at 5.6 the yellow
light came through.
